Fracture Zine (UK): These
guys are awesome. Like Alkaline Trio going on a roadtrip
with SNFU and Stinking Polecats and running over a
jay-walking hardcore band by mistake there is a great
mix of styles on display on this that makes it appealing
to people of all tastes and styles in what can only
be descriped as a veritable tapestry of punk worthy
of the highest praise.
Bullet Magazine (B):
Skate punk with a capital S here. What we get is a
very mature, unique sounding punk rock band. Keyword:melody.
SFP is about to rock the hell out of you all, check
them out live and pick up this CD! No shit, a total
winner. Another fine epic of the notorious and fast
growing EyeSpy saga. If you buy one more punkrock
CD this year, make it this SFP one.
Skrut Magazine (SWE):
This way it can sound too. SFP sounds Swedish in an
odd way and I think they remind me about groups like
Venerea and Skumdum and that no bad comaprions with
my view on punkrock. It´s really simple music
they play but it´s very much feeling in their
music and they win a lot on that. SFP have a sound
which I really like and the 8(or maybe 7 songs) songs
is stucked in my brain in a positive way and they
only do so I want more and more of the group.
Keep On Playing Magazine (B):
Ok mottafockaz, open your ears and listen to this
!! Why do we always have to support the American bands
when we have our own gems from our own country? Nothing
against American bands but SFP really deserves more
attention. They play fast, very melodic punkrock and
on this album you can hear seven of their songs. So
remember, next time you go to the record store, leave
the albums of your favourite Fat Wreck bands in the
rack and buy this cd. I'm sure you won't regret it!
Also good stuff for people who're looking for something
with intelligent lyrics. Both personal and political
topics are represented.
Pitfather (SWE): 1994
was the year Belgium punk-band SFP started out, in
the following years they released two demo-tapes and
a CD-r and played lots of shows. Some line-up changes
and lots of rehearsals down the road, they released
Making the Hood Look Good on the small Belgium label
Eyespy Records. The punk rock has a great melodic
element in it that makes them easy to compare to bands
like Snfu, De Heideroosjes and so on. The up-tempo
songs on this record all have a great production,
without losing the vibe and sound of a punk-album.
This band defiantly has the potential to become, after
some albums and tours, a leading and in the European
scene. Oh I almost forgot they also have a premiere,
the first ever appearance of Britney Spears on a punk
record.
Inside Knowledge (NL):
WARNING: this site contains extremely handsome dudes
and is not suitable for sensible girls who fall in
love very quickly. This is the first line you get
to read when you open the website from these Belgium
guys. So let me tell you what kind of music these
handsome boys are playing. It is pop music mixed with
skatepunkrock and a little bit Emo. Absolute the best
song on this album is "Britney" about Miss
Spears. I believe everything they say about her. It
also did hurt me when she started dating this Justin.
On the album are eight songs and if these guys are
lucky and meet the right people they can become as
big as Blink 182 with this material, but then they
have to be very lucky because there are a lot of bands
waiting for the same chance
